Shawn Mcgill, Lead Catching Instructor, Hitting Instructor

Shawn

McGill has been with the Rhode Island Rebels since the fall of '10, where he has worked with the program's catchers, as well as working with the hitters during off-season workouts.  McGill's insight and experiences as a player make him a valuable part of the Bomb Squad and Rebel staff.

McGill was a two-time all-state selection for coach Jim Sauro at South Kingstown HS, where he graduated in 2002, after leading SK to the state championship.  Shawn continued his career at Boston College, where he played for four years before being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2006 Amateur Draft.

In five professional seasons Shawn has played in the organizations of the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and Atlanta Braves, where he finished up the 2010 season in Double-A.
